4 great friday events

Today we ask you to come to Times Square at 4 pm and join us in taking up Nelson Mandela’s legacy. Together we will share his words and stand up to end extreme poverty by 2030.
Here in New York City, crowds of Global Citizens will join Nelson Mandela's grandson, Kweku Mandela in Times Square (46th and Broadway) at 4 pm today for our first Day of Action in the lead up to the 2014 Global Citizen Festival.
While Nelson Mandela’s words are projected onto screens around Times Square, you will be able to earn 8 points by helping to grow the movement and securing 10 signatures on the Zero Poverty 2030 petition.
"Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings." Nelson Mandela
Today we will stand together to end extreme poverty by 2030 and we want you to stand beside us.

Kickstarter Film Fest 2014
7pm to 11pm
Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn
Tonight we'll be in Fort Greene Park with great food, live music, friendly people, and a two-hour mix of scenes from our favorite Kickstarter-funded films. We'd love to have you join us. But if you can't make it, don't worry — you can watch the entire program from home, all summer long.
