Dine-in customers can get a free small Margherita pie for just 5 cents, the original price of a pie back in 1905! The promotion is only for customers eating in the restaurant and will be available until the dough runs out!Lombardi's did the same promotion for their 100th anniversary, said manager Gil Soto, who added that they expect big crowds on Thursday. Back in 2005 they sold more than 2,500 5-cent pies and this year they expect even more customers."This time we're a little more prepared!" he said, adding that to control crowds they will have barricades and staff to keep people lined up around the block.

BEGINNERS JAPANESE 101
This 7-week course is designed for students who have little or no background in Japanese. The course will provide a solid foundation for the study of Japanese language focusing on daily greetings and basic conversation. The hiragana syllabary will be introduced as the foundation of Japanese pronunciation and grammar.

Not the Met: Exploring the Smaller Museums of Manhattan with Janel Halpern and Harvey Appelbaum

Peek into some of New York City's other museums. Travel to museums and experience exhibits through the authors' eyes with these informative vignettes. Join author Janel Halpern and photographer Harvey Appelbaum on a tour of museums in New York City through their illustrated presentation.
Janel Halpern earned her master's degree from New York University and is a former English teacher. Her lifelong interest in art began in adolescence and soon became a passion. Halpern is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in the New York Times and Redbook magazine. A native New Yorker, Halpern and her family reside in Manhattan.
Harvey Appelbaum is a graduate of the Pratt Institute and worked as a graphic designer and photographer for more than fifty years. He has designed multiple book covers and worked with brands such as Dunkin' Donuts and Absolut Vodka. Appelbaum is a volunteer at the Museum of Modern Art and lives with his family in Manhattan.
