Soundscape New York: Opening Reception
Tonight! Tuesday, March 10 at 6:30 pm

Explore the museum's new audiovisual installation and join its creators and curators for a conversation. Soundscape New York combines the actual sounds of the city's iconic interiors, such as Grand Central Terminal and the Seagram Building lobby, with visual animations projected on a panoramic screen. We'll discuss the multisensory/multidimensional qualities of architecture, and the endless delights and deep mysteries of the places that New Yorkers pass through every day. The discussion takes place at 6:30 pm, with the reception to follow at 7:30 pm.
Donald Albrecht, Curator of Architecture and Design, City Museum
Tony Hiss, Author, The Experience of Place
Karen Van Lengen, FAIA, William Kenan Professor of Architecture at the University of Virginia, and former Dean of the University's School of Architecture
